BiRO+ transforms challenging groundwater under the direct influence (GWUDI) into clean drinking water using a cost-effective 3-stage process: biological filtration, membrane purification and re-mineralization. This process has lower operating costs and less waste than other water purification systems.

Designed for municipalities, utilities, private developers and remote facilities, BiRO+ removes iron, manganese, arsenic, ammonia, hydrogen sulfide and more.

BiRO+ is modular, for plug-and-perform installation across a range of nuanced sites.

Additional features include:

  • Cloud-based monitoring and SCADA integration
  • Multiple disinfection options (chloramine, UV)
  • Integration with other Flowpoint solutions
  • Water storage
  • Distribution pressure system
  • Fully stand-alone or seamlessly integrated

Traditional water treatment solutions rely on excessive chemical additions or dealing with significant fouling on their existing membranes. These systems tend to be operationally intensive, with frequent backwashing leading to unnecessary water loss, increased chemical reliance, higher energy demands and a heavier maintenance burden.

BiRO+ changes that using a cutting-edge, three-stage water treatment process.

Water flows through our high-performance ceramic media colonized by natural bacteria that metabolize contaminants. This is the foundation of BiRO+’s efficiency. By removing the majority of contaminants – like iron, manganese, arsenic, ammonia and hydrogen sulfide – before the membrane stage, biological filtration extends downstream membrane life for less waste, and reduced operating costs.

Fewer contaminants reaching the membranes means less fouling, reduced maintenance, and longer equipment lifespan. The membranes polish the water, removing trace impurities to produce highly purified, biologically stable water.

RO can create slightly acidic water, making it corrosive and not ideal for distribution or taste. This final step restores pH balance and mineral content, protecting infrastructure and enhancing water quality. By fine-tuning only what’s needed, this phase avoids unnecessary chemical dosing, contributing to operational efficiency and regulatory compliance without added waste.

Oversized systems mean oversized budgets — in both CapEx and OpEx. That’s why Flowpoint engineers right-sized, cost-effective water treatment systems tailored to your site, your goals and your future growth.

Because BiRO+ is often new territory for customers, many request a pilot system to validate performance before scaling up. Our team is ready to support that need — and design a pilot that reflects your real-world operating conditions.

Flowpoint also offers engineered-to-order Nanofiltration, Ultrafiltration or Microfiltration to treat surface or groundwater to regulatory standards.

Whether you’re just exploring options or ready to move forward, we’ll meet you where you are.

We start with your source water, infrastructure and goals to assess pain points and treatment needs.

We model performance and estimate cost and impact before a design is ever drawn.

Then, we create detailed 3D drawings and pricing for your review and approval.

Once the design is finalized, we fabricate, test, and ship your system with complete O&M documentation.
