Questions about Working with Flowpoint
Your product team will ask many questions. Each product we design is engineered-to-order to meet your needs. As a matter of fact, our submittal package includes:
- Detailed P&ID drawings
- Bill of materials
- Electrical schematics
- Installation requirements
- CAD drawings (as needed)
Firstly, we do not keep anything on the shelf. Our lead times are very reasonable, and we discuss your project timing early in the process.
For example, we can add 500k gallons of typical MBBR wastewater treatment per day, delivered pre-built within 18-22 weeks from the date of your Purchase Order.
Of course! We recommend equipment optimized for low maintenance and superior performance. Ifyou have a specific part request, we can work with almost any component manufacturer.
Great question! It is important to realize that we deliver systems throughout North America and that we also partner with engineering firms to create stamped packages for submission to regulatory agencies.
Wastewater Treatment:
Moving Bed Biofilm Reactors (MBBR) Packaged Plant
None. That’s the beauty of this: we only use coagulants when required or to meetlower BOD/TSS requirements. Otherwise, no chemicals are used in the process, making our MBBR plants cost-effective and easy to maintain and operate.
We use a combination of media, primarily a highly porous spine-type biochip.
The media provides a high volumetric space for bacterial growth, allowing robust species to form, as larger biological colonies are more effective at treating wastewater.
With our media design, we support higher treatment flow rates than traditional systems.
The only moving part is the air blower in the bioreactor.
Fewer moving parts and no chemicals (except coagulants, if needed) make the MBBR easier to operate than many other wastewater treatment options. Less mechanical complexity translates not only into lower maintenance but also into fewer failure points.

Altogether, we estimate the lifespan of the MBBR media to be approximately 25 years. The lifespan of media can depend on several factors, including usage and maintenance. To achieve optimal lifespan, follow the provided maintenance instructions.
Yes. Previously, we’ve successfully retrofitted many aged systems across North America.
Further to your question. If you have an old timer, coin, or bill acceptance panel, contact us and let’s see what we can do to bring your system into the new age of remote, unmanned control.
Most likely, yes. To be sure, our system requires a 1-Gal (10L) digital passive pulse from your flow meter, 24 VDC or 120 VAC control power, and 120 VAC, 30-amp main power.
Yes. A solar panel can operate the station. However, it can’t operate an electric heater, so it’s best for warm climates or seasonal use stations. Therefore, you can installa propane heater for cold-weather applications as needed.
Additionally, options can include overhead fill, simultaneous fill, auto drains, credit card acceptors, receipt printers, video capture, and SMS text alarms.
Flowpoint bulk water stations are generally maintenance-free and include a 5-year warranty.
Another item to understand is that the backflow device typically requires annual recertification, as mandated by local codes.
Yes. Our septage-receiving access panel is compatiblewith many existing systems. We require an internet connection or LAN as well as a 120 VAC, 30-amp power source.
Additionally, Flowpoint can add a rock trap, grinder, and/or a complete solids separation system with a solids wash press and dumpster to collect the cleaned and dewatered solids.
Let us answer the question for you, as 4″ and 6″ are typical connection sizes. Further, we recommend that you require the hauler to provide their own hose to connect their truck to the station.
Overall, your options include rock traps, grinders, a wash-down hose reel, automated samplers, pH monitoring, hydrocarbon monitoring, automated flushing, receipt printers, video capture, and SMS text alarms.
Very good question. We can integrate with most finance platforms. Contact our support team for your specific application, and let’s see if we can help.
We have numerous security protocols in place to protect transactional information entered into our platform.
We host our cloud software on an industry-accepted web platform with built-in redundancy, and we guarantee 99.999% uptime for our application.
Several customers have asked this question. We offer multiple levels of software subscription, ranging from low-volume to high-volume users. Pricing ranges from $1,200 – $3,600 / year. Pricing includes not only support, training but also updates for your station. We include everything you need to support your station. Contact us for more information via phone, email, or chat.
Water Treatment:
Filtralite® Media
- Physical Filtration: Turbidity, TSS (total suspended solids), and color.
- Biological Filtration: Iron, manganese, arsenic, and ammonia filtration.
Filtralite® is an expanded clay ceramic media.
Filtralite® media is very light and highly porous. It has a larger surface area than any other media on the market, which means greater particle-capturing capacity, fewer backwashes, longer production cycles, lower head loss, and slower differential pressure build-up.
Yes. Filtralite® Pure media is NSF approved/certified.
We estimate the lifespan of our Filtralite® media to be approximately 10-15 years. The lifespan of your Filtralite® media depends onusage and maintenance. Maintain as directed.
